You see, God today is not a disagreeable neighbor that’s waiting around the corner to pounce on you and to find fault with you. God has His arms outstretched, and He’s saying to the sinner, He says, “Come, and I’ll give you redemption rest.” And now He goes on to say something else here that’s very important. “Having made peace through the blood of his cross….” And you see, when God forgives it’s always because the penalty has been paid. God never forgives until the penalty has been paid. The penalty’s been paid for your sins; therefore, God can forgive you.
