I think of the brother down in my southland years ago that in a church service they were giving their favorite Scripture, and he got up and said his favorite was “it came to pass.” And everybody looked puzzled. The preacher stood up, and he said, “Brother, how in the world can ‘it came to pass’ be your favorite?” “Well,” he said, “when I read in the Bible ‘it came to pass,’ I know that when I have trouble or I have problems that they ‘came to pass’—they didn’t come to stay—and that there’ll be a new day out there.”
