Peter told those undergoing persecution that their trials could provide them with a tremendous opportunity to positively influence the unbelievers all around them. He told them to guard their behavior and public conduct so those unbelievers would observe their good deeds and reverse their slander of them—and perhaps become converts to Christianity themselves. We should live so that others will look at us and want to know the God who has transformed us.
